Empire Wins 2009 Winter League Championship

Empire defeated a fierce Kong with a score of 15-12 in the winter league finals. Kong took half on 8-5 with huge plays made by Keegan Uhl on both the throwing and receiving ends of the disc.

The second half started with an Empire upwinder after a Kong pull left Empire clamped down in the back of their own end zone. Steady offense and a huge layout D by Rhett Nichols were enough to get empire out of the hole, and send them to a 2009 Winter League victory.

Empire defeated past champs, Marshall 13-3 in the semi-finals, and Homer’s Disc 13-2 in the quarters.

    P.S. New Winter League rule: you have to score 5 points to be able to talk smack. Just one of those things.

    Congratulations on a fine victory and a great finals to watch.
    As to #7’s proposed new winter league rule, I think I’ll take a pass on sitting in stunned silence at your self imagined majesty. Sure you won. Good for you. Perhaps a goal for next year would be to win and not leave a jerky comment afterwards? I suspect that’s a goal the whole frisbee community could get behind.

    I’ve heard that registration for Winter league ends this Friday (11/27) but I never heard that registration ever started. No word on this site. What’s the scoop? Is this date right? Where do we register?

    I haven’t heard the registration is nearing an end, but I haven’t heard of it starting either, but I really would like to pick up with a team if possible
