St. Pat’s Hat 2009

What: LAOUT is proud to be continuing the St. Pat’s Hat tradition started by Mo in 1995. St. Pat’s is a coed hat tournament (each player signs up as an individual and is assigned to a team for the weekend). You must pre-register and pre-pay in order to play.

When: Saturday & Sunday March 21-22, 2008. Games begin at 9:00 am Saturday. Please arrive NO LATER THAN 8:00 to get your shirt, meet your teammates, and warm up. There will be a captains’ meeting at 8:45.

Where: NEW LOCATION!!! Van Nuys Sherman Oaks War Memorial Park in Sherman Oaks, CA

How: Registration is closed. There may be a few spots for women, but there is a wait list for men. For more info, email Sarah. If you have already registered but still need to pay, you can either mail a $40 check (this includes the $10 late fee) payable to LAOUT to:

Cost: Regular on time tournament fee is $30. Late registration (if there is still room in the tournament) is an additional $10, so $40 total. Payment can be made via Paypal immediately after you register (preferred) OR you can mail a check made out to LAOUT to

New This Year:
In honor of this year’s theme “Great Potato Jammin” St. Pat’s Hat will be hosting a food drive to benefit needy families in the greater LA area. All I can tell you now is that the team that brings the most non perishable food items will receive an awesome prize. More details to come.

Gender Format:
12 coed teams. Format will be 4/3 or 5/2 offense chooses.

Schedule:
Check in begins at 8am on Saturday. Games on Saturday will be done between 5 & 6 pm.

Rules: UPA 11th edition are in effect, with the following additions/modifications:
1. No footblocks
2. Games to 13. Mirror half at 7.
3. Soft Cap goes on at 80 minutes. Play to the highest score + 2. Hard cap will go on at 90 minutes. At the end of the point, if there is a clear winner, game over. If tied, play one more point.
4. One timeout per half plus one floater, no timeouts during overtime. Time outs are 90 seconds.

Extras:
Field food and water (bring your own bottles) will be provided on Saturday and Sunday. Discs will be on sale at Frisbee Central for $10.

Accuracy Contest: Thanks to DTW we will be having an accuracy contest available during your bye rounds. Report your scores to frisbee central to be eligible for a sweet prize.

Attire: T-shirts will be provided in a different shade of green for each team. Please bring white and black shirts also because some of them greens are hard to tell apart! Irish flair and green hats are strongly encouraged.

Hat Rules: You don’t have to wear a hat at all times . . . . but if you happen to D a disc with your hat, that’s totally legal and strongly encouraged.

Refund Policy: Full refund will be given to anyone who cancels their registration on or prior to February 15th. No refund will be given after that.
