Summer League 2010 Ratings

Experience Skill – Offense – Throwing
10 = Play recently at the highest club levels (last 3 yrs) 10 = All throw types, high percentage
9 = Played at the highest club levels (lifetime) 9 = Very chilly handler w/ full field hucks
8 = Recent competitive club player (last 3 yrs) 8 = Good break marks, chilly, some good hucks
7 = Play at the highest college levels 7 = Chilly handler, but lacking hucks
6 = Played competitive club levels (lifetime) 6 = Don’t normally handle, but can in Summer League
5 = Competitive college player 5 = Decent thrower.  Average.
4 = Mostly league play, some tournaments 4 = Throws consistent at the 15-20 yard range
3 = College B-team player 3 = Both backhand and forehand, inconsistent
2 = Casual pick-up or some league play 2 = Only backhand or forehand throw
1 = Beginner/learning to play 1 = Can’t throw at all.  I don’t know what chilly means.
Skill – Offense – Cutting Skill – Offense – Catching
10 = Can get open all day long 10 = If it’s in the air, it’s mine
9 = Great at creating space for the thrower. 9 = Can sky many players
8 = Solid in and out cuts, and good secondary cuts 8 = Great hands, good ups.
7 = Good ability to get open much of the time. 7 = Good positioning / catches fast discs
6 = Slightly above average. 6 = Above average hands and ups.
5 = Average cutting ability. 5 = Reads the disc well, good catches
4 = Slightly below average. 4 = Not great in the air, but catches most everything
3 = Decent cuts, can get open here and there 3 = Some drops, but comfortable catching
2 = Seem to get open, but don’t get thrown to a lot. 2 = I’ll catch it if it’s not a difficult play.
1 = Not sure where to cut, hard time getting open 1 = Nervous catching the disc
Skill – Defense – Covering Skill – Defense – Marking
10 = The receiver won’t touch the disc 10 = Best throwers can’t get around my mark
9 = Excellent all-around defender 9 = I can stop most throwers from getting around me
8 = Good at containing receiver in and deep 8 = Great marker with some hand blocks
7 = Can stay with receiver, and get some blocks 7 = Better than average marker
6 = Can anticipate cuts well, and stay pretty close 6 = Can hold a consistent mark
5 = Somewhere in the middle / average 5 = Average marks
4 = Can usually cover in or deep, not both 4 = Get broken a little more than I should
3 = Play behind receiver / scared about deep cuts 3 = Thrower often breaks the mark on me
2 = Receiver will get open on me a lot. 2 = I poach way too much to get on the mark
1 = Still learning to play D 1 = What is a mark?
Speed Stamina
10 = Speedy Gonzales 10 = Can run all day long, loves savage
9 = Fast 9 = Can play savage and still run hard.
8 = Pretty quick 8 = Willing to play most points
7 = Above average 7 = Pretty good energy most of the game.
6 = A little above average 6 = Above average, but not great.
5 = Average 5 = Solid, average
4 = A little below average 4 = Good for like 1 or 2 cuts per point
3 = Some speed 3 = Mostly jogging with some running scattered in there
2 = Pretty slow 2 = Once I could run when I was younger, but no longer
1 = Slow as molasses 1 = Gets winded easily
