Summer League 2010 Registration

1) The ratings are different from last year, so please don’t simply rely on what you put last year. All the ratings have been standardized to 10, so it’s easier for the captains. (Each section is weighted differently however when determining overall score.)
2) If you need to make changes after you’ve submitted this, please email me at andyb1414@yahoo.com to let me know. Cause if you just re-submit this form, it won’t let me know.
3) For the ratings below, I just put numbers from 10-1. 10 being the best. If you need a Ratings Guide to help you, you should click HERE.
4) Try to fill in all fields. If something doesn’t apply to you, just put n/a.

Why is it $60 this year?
Extra $5 to cover the costs of Five Ultimate jerseys instead of the old cotton shirts. And extra $5 to cover the losses that Summer League has taken each of the last two years because two years ago I got screwed on the booze cruise, and last year the fields went up in price and I didn’t adequately prepare for it.
I think that you should have gotten screwed on the booze cruise.
is the check or online payment considered the registration for summer league or is there something else you got to fill out
where is the league centered?
Most league games will be at Balboa Park in Encino.

Do you guys have a free agent pool, or only pre-formed teams?
Neither. Everyone plays. You’re drafted onto a team.
This seems like a dumb question, but when are the games for the summer league usually held? I’ve been looking around on the website and can’t find any kind of schedule.
The schedule is not up yet. It won’t be posted until the first week of June.
Are the games usually at night or during the day?
All games start at 8PM weeknights.
When is the Draft?!??!
Men’s draft is on Tuesday, June 1 and the Co-ed draft is on Wednesday, June 2.
Can someone live-blog or tweet the co-ed draft on Wednesday night, for the benefit of those who can’t be there?
Is the draft at a specific place that we should go to, or do we just get e-mails telling us what team we’re on?
There is no specific place that everyone goes for the draft. The captains gather in a room and we have a lists with everyone’s name and the self reported values. In theory, the draft is supposed to be secret so no one knows where they were selected. This way no one gets to stand around and watch themselves get picked last.
Also, captains occasionally need to ask the room questions like – “Can player X handle?” Right before they choose their person. While you don’t need a private draft to ask that question, it sure makes it much easier to answer “Player X thinks he can, but I wouldn’t pick em for that.” The ability to ask for honest feedback on a player can be really helpful for the less experienced captains and the ultimate goal of having fair and fun teams.
I can’t vouch for others, but I usually send out the welcome to the team email the day following the draft.
