bmaizell@gmail.com
Hola,
I would love to join a team and play in Winter League this year; I played last year and had a great time! I’m 6′ 3″ & can play deep, mid, or handler – but usually end up deep. I’ve been playing for a while and have played LAOUT for the last year, since I moved out here from Boston. I want to play with a fun group of people. Thanks, please let me know if you have a spot,

I played league ultimate back home in KY for two seasons, am in good condition, and am an effective defensive, mid, and long player. I can handle in a pinch but mostly like to cut. If any team needs a guy for this season please hit me up with an email at:

Hey everyone
I am still doing my best to recruit women for a pick-up team, but please please please try to recruit on your own as well! Let’s get this done!!! I will know in the next few days if this will come to fruition!
If anyone needs 2 guys shoot me an email. Very experience and well rounded players. I myself run. 10.5 100m so I am nearly always the fastest on the field and can ge to almost any disc tossed up. My buddy is also pretty quick but is much better at catching catches that otherwise wouldn’t have been caught. We both are skilled handlers and experienced throwers. Let me know!!

I am an intermediate women looking to pick up with a team for Winter League. Please feel free to email me if you have a spot.
Cheers,

There should be a poll question on how many emails Larke Williams gets inviting her to join teams. I’d pick 5-6.
I’d like to get picked up, too. I recently played 2 years at university of stuttgart (germany).

Any word on the schedule?
The schedule was sent to captains yesterday… It will be available on the website shortly!
I just move from Florida to Southern California and was looking for a team i could at least maybe practice with or maybe even with.
1-5 on skill: I’m about a 4
1-5 on athleticism: I’m about a 3 favoring 4
I’ve been playing for about 4 years solid now with plenty of tournament experience.
If any team is looking for a strong handler let me no; honestly i just want to play with people that can really give me a challenge!

PS – Elya Beer is a MALE and is listed as a FEMALE
I am a female looking for a team at the VERY last minute. Recovering from back surgery so am a little limited, but a decent handler. Let me know if I can play with your team.
Thank you,
Tammy

Footblocks!!!
Its all good E, as your captain, I’m going to go ahead and say we will keep you as a female
ADVANTAGE!
Too soon to say if 3 divisions is the way to go, but it seems to be going in a healthy direction. Looks like every game will be competitive in all divisions. I was at the game last night. Got there late and heard the first point of the C division was one of the longest in the history of ultimate. Once that was out of the way the learning curve was accelerated. Both teams were highly motivated. Drama was kept to a minimum with the occasional sideline help with the rules.
Any Winter League looking to make good/cheap Jerseys for about $10 each go to: http://www.teesondemand.com/ and ask for Rick. He can print them (with names and #’s) within a week and you can pick them up in Redondo Beach…and they look swEEt!
sounds like Marshall vs Empire could be an exciting game, I wish I could have seen it
Looks like the tiered division format might be working.
hey guys,
please consider ADDING THE DATE to the home page post re. Winter League field condition (closed due to rain/playable/etc.) since so many people rely upon this post, and it feels so vague to just read a sentence on the home page saying “no games tonight” – my assumption, knowing how these things go, is always that this post may be old and no one has actually had the time to update it for today.
I’d suggest wording it like this: “NO GAMES TONIGHT (1/13). GAMES HAVE BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN (per Balboa recording, 818-756-9807).
thanks!
-priya
Good call Priya. I changed it as requested.
Will rained out games be made up?
You can schedule make-up games on your own, generally on a weekend where you can find fields for free, but the rain-outs are not rescheduled by the TD.
Hey! I know it is late in the season, but if anyone ever needs a girl as a sub, I would be more than willing to pick up and play! I played for 4 years in college.. and would love to help out wherever! Email me at rachel.ciccarello@gmail.com

33rd Annual APRIL FOOLS FEST!!
Bring your reunion and/or theme team to one of the best, oldest
and certainly most foolish tournaments running. With Open,
Women’s, and Mixed Divisions, there’s a place for every fool
around. Remember,Fools Fest is typically a tournament for
reunion/theme teams only. Please help continue this wonderful
tradition by saying ‘see ya later this year’ to your regular club
teammates for this one weekend.
The tournament is planned to once again take place at John Lee
Pratt Park in Fredericksburg, VA on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday,
(yes, its a 3-day tournament!) April 2, 3 and 4, 2010.
Information on submitting your team’s bid to play in this year’s
event is currently posted at the official tournament website
http://www.wafc. org/fools- fest
If you any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at

Tournament Directors
tournament party is set! GOOOOOOO SPRINGBOK!!! Whoop Whoop!
I *LOVE* this 3 day tournament plan. It makes every round an event night to look forward to. Teams game plan and smack talk on the days in between. Who will win? Who will collapse under the pressure? Drawing out the suspense is brilliant!!! And I’m not even playing Winter League!
For anyone filling out the LAOUT March Madness brackets, half of Tarmac will be MIA for the tournament. Oh, what might have been…
if anyone wants to help me set up fields on sunday, please let me know!!!
over-under on number of B and C teams that remember about the time change and show up on time?
is ther tourney still going to be at the fields in winnetka, illinois?
A couple weeks back I picked up a purple/black outdoor blanket. I’ll bring it tomorrow in case the owner is there!
I’d like to thank Sarah & Andy (yes – again!) b/c they put in a lot of hardwork and dedicated a shit load of time for a tournament that Mother Nature was not intent on having! But through Rain, WIND and dodging hailing ultimate complaints …they were able to pull it off, successfully! THANK YOU!
