**Due to impending rain, the tournament is no longer on Saturday at Balboa.**
When: Sunday, March 12, 2006. Games start at 9AM. Round 2 starts at 10:40AM. Five rounds of games. All games are to 13 except the Finals which are to 15.
Where: CSUN in Northridge. Click this link for directions to the field. Note: A Bracket games will be on the North Fields. B Bracket games will be on the East Fields.
CSUN is a college campus, and therefore is subject to the following restrictions:
NO SMOKING, NO DRINKING, NO DOGS, NO PUBLIC NUDITY (aw shucks)
Water will be provided, and I'm going to try to have something edible as well.
What happens if it rains on Sunday: In the event of rain, OR if it rains heavily on Saturday, we may lose the fields. In which case the tournament will be rescheduled for the following week, on Sunday, March 19 at CSUN.
Party: following the finals at Harper's Sports Bar on 19333 Business Center Drive, Northridge. Directions from CSUN: Take Zelzah Ave OR Reseda Blvd. south to Nordhoff Way. Right turn on Nordhoff. Left turn on Tampa. Right turn on Business Center Drive. It's just a couple miles from the fields.
Format: The top four teams in A Bracket get first round byes, as well as seeds 15 & 18 in B Bracket. Both the A and B bracket tournaments will be a field of 12 teams. Completely separate brackets. Here they are in a Word document
Seeding will be done based on the following criteria:
1) Winning percentage
2) Head-to-head
3) Point differential
***Note - No teams will be reseeded due to rainouts or forfeits. It is what
it is
Observers: For the second year in a row, and for the A bracket Finals only, we'll be having observers, trained by the UPA.
Sons' & Daughters' Game: cancelled due to relocation - sorry!
