Winter League 2007 Rules

Play will be according to the UPA Rules of Ultimate (10th Edition), with the following additions and exceptions:

A) Mixed -
Winter League is a mixed gender league. Mixed play will be as follows:
If both teams have four or more women present, play will be 5m/2f or 4m/3f, with offense dictating the gender ratio. If one or both teams have three or fewer women present, play will be 5m/2f. If a team has fewer than 2 women present, they must play shorthanded, with a maximum of 5 male players on the field at any time.

B) Length of game -
Games will be played until one team's number of goals scored first reaches 15, with a margin of at least two goals. The score will be soft capped at 17 goals. Games will be hard capped at 10:25pm. This means the game is over after the point during which the hard cap occurs. If the cap occurs between points, the game is over. If the score is tied, teams play until one additional goal is scored.
A mirror halftime will occur when one team's number of goals first reaches 8. Halftime will last five minutes.
Overtime occurs when the score is tied at 14. Play will continue until a two-goal margin, or the soft cap, is achieved.

C) Time-Outs -
Each team will have one time-out per half and one additional "floating" time-out which can be used in either half. Each team is permitted exactly one time-out in overtime. Time-outs will be 90 seconds in duration.

D) Start of game -
Games will start at 8:30pm. If only one team fails to signal readiness for the start of a scheduled game, the opposing team shall be awarded goals at a rate of one goal for every 5 minutes elapsed after the first team signals readiness, to a maximum of 5 goals. If the team has not signaled readiness after 30 minutes, that team will default and a score of 5-0 will be awarded to the opposing team.
